Abstract
Jakarta, as one of the largest megacities in Southeast Asia, faces significant threats from climate change, including flooding, sea level rise, and increasingly frequent natural disasters. These vulnerabilities demand comprehensive adaptation and mitigation strategies to ensure the city’s long-term resilience. This document presents the initiatives of the Jakarta Provincial Government in strengthening climate resilience and disaster management through the development of robust infrastructure, early warning systems, and adaptive spatial planning. A participatory approach involving government agencies, the private sector, local communities, and international organizations serves as a key foundation for policy implementation. Furthermore, the report emphasizes the importance of technological innovation, cross-sector collaboration, and the integration of local knowledge with global practices in building Jakarta as a resilient global city. Through these strategies, Jakarta aims to reduce disaster risks, improve the quality of life for its citizens, and contribute to the global agenda of climate change mitigation and sustainable development.
